Jean-Claude Villeneuve is the founder of Boris Canada; he is an engineer and had a mission that embraced product creation that would improve people's health. He had a vision to create his own company. Utilizing his experience in electrical engineering and robotics, Jean-Claude spent several years working and traveling in Asia and the United States. After returning in 2014 to his native Chibougamau-Chapais region, located in Eeyou Istchee Bay James in northern Quebec, Canada, he set up his distillation business, emphasizing sustainability.
BoreA Canada uses traditional and innovative techniques to produce essential oils, hydrosols, and other high-quality extracts that minimize environmental harm.
BoreA Canada's circular process reduces greenhouse gases by 60% compared to a conventional approach. Their production facilities are state-of-the-art and enable high-capacity scalable production. Every aspect of their operation is overseen, from harvesting trees to the end product, to ensure the highest quality and sustainability standards.
BoreA Canada now produces high-quality essential oils, hydrosols, and other extracts from more than 15 species from the boreal forest. Jean-Claude feels it is essential to use both traditional and innovative extraction processes based on eco-responsibility. His engineering training came in handy when he designed his distillation tanks, which were unique for their high capacity and performance.
"We do not hesitate to work in temperatures of minus 40 degrees Celsius to collect plants from the forest, far from human habitation and coming mainly from vast territories on public lands with long-term government guarantees. Government-managed crops must follow a specific framework for ensuring renewable resources. ” Jean-Claude Villeneuve
"Every 1.42 seconds, someone, somewhere, uses two drops of Black Spruce essential oil to soothe their muscle pain or boost their energy." Jean-Claude Villeneuve

From Eric Scott Bresselsmith
The Art of Living is to make Life Your Art". A thought came to mind while hitchhiking to work on the north shore of Kauai in the mid-80s. This notion made me understand that my wellness & health were of the truest value to myself and this world. I landed on an organic farm/meditation retreat center in the late 80's. It was at this juncture I began self-studying herbalism & nutrition. Becoming a Father at 27, I took it upon myself to care for my family's health needs. After leaving the farm in the early 2000s, I started learning about essential oils. This laid the foundation for my artisan essential oil distiller work beginning in 2008. Thanks to my Grandfather "Lefty" for bequeathing me a small inheritance that allowed me to invest in a small (55 gallons!) essential oil still. I knew nothing of the process, chemistry, or alchemy at the time. Well into my second decade as a distiller, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the way this simple process teaches and leads the way to learning directly from the Trees and plants.
(Eric has requested that participants bring with them a sprig of conifer; pine, fir, spruce, etc, doesn't matter. Along with a bottle of some conifer essential oil. If possible)

Mark Webb is the author of Bush Sense – Australian Essential Oils & Aromatic Compounds. He is highly passionate about the aromatic plants of his home country – Australia – and their use within the Aromatic Therapies space.
Mark has worked in the biotech industry conducting research and development using aromatics to formulate dose forms and applications for clinical trials for some fairly serious conditions & diseases, including Avian Influenza and Dengue Fever.
Mark wrote and teaches the Aromatic Medicine Diploma Program to equip clinical aromatherapists with a full range of essential oil dose forms and application methods based upon an escalating structure from low dose up to higher concentration topical and internal dose forms. Addressing the chemistry and pharmacology of essential oils in terms of their holistic and cosmetic as well as advanced clinical applications, Mark provides participants with the tools to expand and deepen their professional practice — to make it scientifically more precise, clinically broader, and more integrated.
